I go through Uguisudani station every morning, just before reaching Ueno and I wanted to have a quick look.
Furthermore, I decided to do the Yamathon this year (walking the whole Yamanote Line in a day) and I thought it would be a good idea to do some scouting.
It was also a perfect winter day. Not too cold but with a perfect blue sky. It would have been a shame to miss it.
Stuck between love hotels and railroads
Uguisudani is one of the Red Light Districts of Tokyo. One of the only three zones where love hotels are officially allowed to be run in huge numbers (the other two being Dogenzaka in Shibuya and Kabukicho next to Shinjuku Station).

Apart from that, not much. Just one of this intermediary stations without much for themselves.
Pachinkos, small shops trying to survive between said pachinkos and railway lines.

In short, nothing thrilling in Uguisudani for me.
